Gwyn Downey Piano & Bassoon Studio

                  Welcome!

Welcome to my studio website! The Piano and Bassoon Studio of Gwyn Downey offers private music lessons to school age children located in Elgin, Illinois. 

Piano Student                                                                                                                                          

As a member of ISMTA, Illinois State Music Teachers Association, piano students participate in the Achievement in Music Program (AIM). This is a 12-level program where students study and are tested by a qualified teacher in music theory, sight-reading, aural skills, technique and performing 2-3 solos by memory. Other performance opportunities include annual piano recital and American Grands.

Bassoon Students

Current and former bassoon students have participated in ILMEA & All State Band & Orchestra, concerto competitions, honors band, pit orchestra, Elgin Youth Symphonies, and Chicago Youth Orchestra.
